Story

Once Upon a Time…

We pride ourselves on being great storytellers. This is ours.

Josslynne Welch – President, LPR

In 1988, educated by some of the best in the toy business and with a love for the industry, Michele Litzky founded Litzky Public Relations (LPR). Looking for accountability and a new challenge, she recognized an opportunity to apply her PR and niche marketing experience working with consumer packaged goods to children’s toys. From Matchbox Toys to Transformers, Michele worked with iconic brands and toy industry greats.

In the spring of 1998, while teaching an introductory PR class at New York University, Michele met Josslynne Welch. After some initial friction – Josslynne cut class and gave Michele a scathing review; Michele gave her a dressing down in front of her peers – Josslynne delivered an impressive final presentation, leading Michele to offer her an internship for that summer.

Josslynne never left. For the next 25 years, the two women worked together to build Litzky Public Relations into an award-winning full-service communications agency.

In 2018, after years of delivering client strategy and solutions, Josslynne was named LPR’s President. In her new role, she continued to nurture client relationships and diversify the agency’s portfolio, while expanding its services to meet evolving industry and partner needs.

Josslynne takes pride in mentoring the LPR staff and building a strong culture. Repeatedly recognized as a Best Place to Work, LPR employee retention is high because the agency walks the talk – prioritizing a healthy life-work balance and creating a safe space where each employee feels both seen and heard. The LPR leadership team focuses on developing each employee as a whole person, empowering them to be their best so they can do their best.

With tenured employees creating a solid foundation of deep expertise and rising talent keeping LPR on the ever-evolving edge, clients come to us for smart counsel, a results-focused team, and exceptional client service.

LPR has deep roots in the toy industry, where we will continue to play. In recent years, the agency has leveraged its expertise talking to kids and families to strengthen and expand our portfolio to include publishing, live entertainment, footwear, apparel, bicycles, and the older adult market. In addition to consumer brands, the agency continues to work with business-to-business clients in the toy and licensing industries.

In 2023, after a long and celebrated career, Michele retired from the agency and Josslynne became sole proprietor. The two remain the best of friends.
