PR Account Executive — Consumer & Lifestyle Brands
First, a little bit about us:
LPR is a leading communications agency specializing in kids and family brands. Based in Hoboken, NJ, LPR has been named to PRNews 2024 Agency Elite Top 100 and PR Week Best Places to Work for the last four years. Known for our results-focused approach and exceptional client service, we are savvy storytellers, media matchmakers, and social trendspotters; big thinkers and bold doers. We love what we do and have a lot of fun doing it.
We’re in search of an Account Executive with at least three years of experience, ambition, creativity, and sharp instincts to join our growing team and represent some of the world’s most iconic brands in the consumer, toy, and lifestyle industries. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day client relationships and program execution, including securing impactful media coverage, overseeing creator campaigns, and leveraging affiliate programs for PR coverage.
Note: LPR has a hybrid work policy. Employees are currently required to work in our Hoboken co-working venue every other Thursday and as needed for client meetings. LPR provides employees with a laptop, monitor, and software to work from home; the agency also pays for employee cell phone service.
Now, a little bit about you:
You love a good story. You’re a gifted storyteller and relationship builder with a proven ability to pitch and land editorial coverage. You have solid media relationships and are dedicated to identifying the most effective hook and finding the right contact to cover your clients. You’re constantly brainstorming news hooks, creative partnerships, engaging experiences, and smart campaigns for your clients.
You understand the power of commerce media. With a working knowledge of affiliate-driven PR, you’ll learn how to integrate your clients’ affiliate programs into the overall PR strategy to secure top-tier media placements for consumer product clients.
You’re passionate about pop culture. You love to get lost in a good news story and obsess over smart brand collabs. You stay up to date on all kinds of entertainment: movies, TV, music, celebrities, and fashion.
You’re social media savvy and passionate about performance. You’re always on top of who and what is trending and have a knack for discovering creators and fostering relationships with them. You know how to identify the right platforms and talent for your clients and enjoy building social-forward campaigns that drive results.
You’d jump at the chance to attend industry and client events, lead high-profile product launches, and present new plans and PR strategies at client meetings.
How you’ll make an impact:
You’ll be a leader. You’ll mentor junior staff, counsel your clients, and collaborate with your contacts to get coverage. You’ll work with your account lead to develop strategy and oversee execution, managing timelines and budgets to make sure work gets done on time and at cost.
You’ll make news. You’ll develop strong media lists, pitch angles, and lead outreach to land top-tier media coverage, consistently putting your clients in the headlines – and reporting the results back to share the glory. PR is never one and done; you’ll build long-lasting relationships with the press and influencers you work with.
You’ll become an expert at everything. We wear many hats. One day you’re packing up media mailers, the next you are managing an influencer campaign, and the following day you’re facilitating a Q&A with a high-profile executive or celebrity spokesperson and top-tier press. No two days are ever the same.
You’ll be part of a team. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where each person feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture. In addition to working with your account team, you’ll partner with your peers as part of a cross-functional team responsible for agency-wide programs.
You’ll inspire clients. As part of your day-to-day, you’ll be empowered as a voice of authority on PR-related matters to clients, providing trusted counsel, monitoring competition, and identifying and sharing industry trends.
Why you’ll love it here:
We believe life comes first. Hybrid work policy, flex hours, paid holidays, generous paid vacation time, up to 20 weeks parental leave, and time to rest and recharge while the agency is closed between Christmas and New Year’s. We do not count sick days (for physical or mental health) and you get to choose one month each year to “Work from Anywhere,” fully remote. Oh, and did we mention that you get PTO for your birthday and the agency closes at 1pm on Fridays – all year long?!
We have fun. A lot of fun. Our co-working venue boasts its own barista, monthly lunch mixers with a DJ, and a view of the Manhattan skyline. We love to get together in and out of the office and find lots of reasons to celebrate (and eat snacks) throughout the year. A day at the salon, a murder mystery “date night,” and an annual holiday party tradition are just a few examples!
We celebrate each other and our community. There is a dedicated ‘Big Thinkers, Bold Doers’ chat where employees share kudos and gratitude. We host monthly LPR Happenings, a catered lunch where we highlight recent successes and share helpful insights. We also pay it forward; employees are encouraged to participate in agency-led volunteer projects throughout the year.
Your voice will be heard. Our leadership team sets the tone for the agency, from maintaining high work standards to fostering our unique agency culture. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where each person feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture.
We provide room for growth. We invest in our team and are seriously committed to professional advancement (our weekly StormShops and monthly Litzky Labs provide the foundation). Need proof? The President of our agency started as an LPR intern!
We offer great benefits. In addition to a competitive salary base and compensation plan, we offer a great health insurance program. Employees are eligible for long- and short-term disability benefits, life insurance, commuter benefits, a medical flexible spending account, and a 401k program.
The anticipated salary range for the Account Executive position starts at $60,000, commensurate with experience. Base salary is one component of LPR’s total compensation package, which also includes financial contribution toward health insurance, generous time off including paid holidays, year-round half-day Fridays, and vacation that scales with tenure, a 401(k) program, reimbursement for cell phone service, and more.
